Computer-Adaptive Testing · MLS(ASCP) and MLS(ASCPi)
The real MLS examination is computer-adaptive: answer correctly and the questions get harder. This mock works the same way — 100 questions in 150 minutes, drawn one at a time from a dedicated 400-item pool across all seven content areas. Free with any account.
It starts in the middle
Your first question is medium difficulty. From there, every answer moves the test: sustained correct answers step it up, a miss steps it down.
One question at a time
You see one question, answer it, and it locks — no review list, no going back. That is exactly how the BOC delivers the real examination.
Assessment, not study mode
No per-question answers are revealed, matching the real exam. For learning with full explanations, use the 19 linear practice tests.
| Blood Banking | ~20 questions |
| Chemistry | ~20 questions |
| Hematology | ~20 questions |
| Microbiology | ~20 questions |
| Urinalysis and Other Body Fluids | ~8 questions |
| Immunology | ~6 questions |
| Laboratory Operations | ~6 questions |
You get your raw score, a breakdown across the seven content areas, your accuracy at each difficulty level, and the deepest difficulty you sustained. What you will not see is a 100–999 scaled score or a pass/fail verdict: the BOC calculates those from statistically calibrated question parameters, and imitating that number without the same statistical footing would be a guess dressed up as precision. We would rather report less and have every number mean something.
You can take the adaptive test 3 times without seeing any question twice. After the third attempt the question ledger resets, and repeats become possible — you are told before that attempt starts.
Want explanations and study feedback with every question? The 19 linear practice tests are the learning mode — the first full test is free too.
